Happy holidays from Family Bike Ride!

In 2024 we rode in Medford, Somerville, Brookline, Cambridge, Everett, Watertown, Boston, and Boston neighborhoods of Roxbury, Jamaica Plain, Charlestown, East Boston, Allston & Brighton and put on 3 cargo bike test drive events. In 2025 we will do a whole new set of routes, we have enough ideas for routes to last us for multiple years without repeating ourselves, plus new infrastructure is always being built. We will continue our goals using creative ways of promoting cycling by promoting awareness of safe bike infrastructure, creating "school spirit" and a supportive community around cycling.
Our next ride will be our winter ride, you can't save the date because we will announce it on this email list a few days before based on weather forecast and ground conditions. Will it have the same surprise treat as last year? Yes!
Pencil in the date for Sunday April 6th 2025 for our Spring Ride into downtown Boston (it has a permitting journey ahead of it).
How can you support our efforts in 2025? 3 ways:
1) Make a New Year's resolution to volunteer at least one event per year. It's easy.
2) Join in on planning, especially for rides that go to your town
3) Donate. Because Family Bike Ride is a program of a 501c3 Community Pedal Power, your contribution may be tax deductible, (consult your tax advisor) There are only a few more days of the 2024 tax year! For those curious about our finances, attached is a condensed version of where 2024 financials currently stand. Note that all organizer, volunteer time and in kind contributions are donated. We had over 75 families making donations in 2024, thank you! If you have not donated yet, please consider a contribution to shrink our 2024 deficit. Think of the value your family receives from the hours of entertainment, plus the impact we as a group are having on local sustainable transportation culture.
See you next year!
