The 5th Annual Spring Family Bike Ride is this Sunday!
More communications will be sent to those registered.
The ride will start at North Point Playground. For many attendees heading down the Somerville Community Path and continuing on North Point off street paths is the best way to get to the start point. We will ride on mostly protected bike infrastructure to Government Center, with crossing guards at the intersections.
Once at Government Center, kids can play at the amazing playground, home of the notorious "cop slide". We will have a limited collection of our own play equipment too. Kids can also do t shirt decorating crafts activity (featuring our custom cargo bike stencils, plus lots of animals and dinosaurs). Enjoy the cookie potluck, bring cookies for it if you can, but not required. After eating cookie dessert first, families are encouraged to get a bite to eat from nearby food vendors such as at Boston Public Market or Faneuil Hall.
After your family is finished with the event you can continue the fun at Boston attractions such as at Boston Common (swan boats/carousel) or Rose Kennedy Greenway (carousel and the last day of the winter Ferris Wheel).
We look forward to seeing you there! If any families coming with 2 adults can spare one adult during the ride portion to be a crossing guard, we are in the final stages of filling out our roster and would appreciate the help! This is a parent organized event made possible by community support.
Thanks!
Paul Morgan
