Ride this Saturday Cambridge to amusements in Waltham

Saturday August 16th

Meet at Glacken Park Cambridge

Gather 9, depart 9:15AM

We will ride to the amusements at Prospect Hill Park in Waltham via Huron/Fresh Pond protected bike lanes, Watertown Greenway, Charles River Paths, Mass Central Rail Trail and also some street riding.   This is an 8-9 mile ride each way and there may be some hills so this is great for adults with electric cargo bikes and who are reasonably confident street riders (for short periods of time).   This ride is a casual ad hoc small group ride posted to this email list only, not one of our major events we spend months planning to great detail.   

The ride is 50-60 minutes.  Schedule after arrival is TBD and based on the interests/moods of attendees.   Maybe after interest in amusements is done we will go to a playground and/or get a bite to eat before returning.   Attendees may leave/rejoin group as they wish.

Hello,

The schedule for the amusements appears to have changed and it looks like it will no longer be open tomorrow.   Instead, we will do a ride from the same start location and time but go to the new Gronk playground on the esplanade instead.  

Essentially the whole way will be on protected bike infrastructure of Cambridge, Watertown and Boston.    The distance will be about the same going there, but for many people on this email list who might come the ride home after will be shorter.

FYI Gronk playground has a water feature in case you wish to bring water clothes.
