spring/summer events, including a surprise one today

Save the date for some upcoming events:

TODAY-Ride from JFK Park Cambridge to the Herring Festival in Watertown

This is a last minute casual not extensively planned ride that you get exclusive access to as a  subscriber to our email list!   The Herring Festival looks fun, click on link above to get more info, and should anyone be able to make it today, the ride would be a mini test of elements of our summer ride.   Meet at 10:15AM today at JFK Park Cambridge on Memorial Drive, we leave at 10:30.   Memorial Drive may or may not be closed to cars at that point in the morning, but if not we will ride on sidewalks for the Mem Drive portion, then we will ride along the Charles River on protected bike infrastructure.  

East Boston Ride June 1st

2 weeks from today we will do this day trip (10:30-~4:30), like taking a mini vacation without having to spend alot of money on travel and hotels.   We will ride on protected bike infrastructure in Boston, ride a ferry, ride on the East Boston Greenway and other calm infrastructure in East Boston, check out cool parks, play at Constitution Beach, eat Italian Ice from the beach commissary.    Limit 50 people, registration is absolutely required for this event (as is cancelling registration if you can't make it so someone else doesn't miss out).   No box bikes as it too hard to load them on ferries (box bike owners with no access to anything else ask me I'll see if I can work my connections to our sister organization, the e bike lending library-we are part of the same non profit, Community Pedal Power).    Families that came to our test versions of this event last fall had a great time!
