So the Israelis attack ships on the high seas just like the Somalis now. I suppose some people will claim that for the Israelis its not piracy, they obviously have different rules to the Somalis.

Haven’t had a chance to fully make a educated opinion, but it looks like Israel may have overstepped their bounds on this one

My understanding of the international law around the issue is that since Israel and Gaza are effectively at war Israel is entitled to institute a blockade which prevents the passage of equipment of war. However this blockade cannot extend into international waters so is limited to in general 12 miles from the coast of Gaza. When Germany tried to implement blockades of Britain in both World Wars, the sinking or attacking of US ships outside of the UK coastal waters was considered by the US to be an act of war against the US. Similarly here it is my belief that the Israelis should have allowed the ships closer to the shore prior to stopping them.
Generally though it is my considered belief that the entire situation is brought about by both countries behaving like petulant children. Hamas should recognize Israel’s right to exist and Israel should allow Palestinian independence. They are both nations of Semites who could work well together if they would stop fighting one another.
