Family Promise core team,
We had a great meeting on August 22 with the Gwinnett FP area-wide Volunteer Coordinator Laura Hartman and Director Chuck Ferraro telling us of the challenges of managing the volunteer coordinator task for each congregation. We want to thank them for taking the time and trouble to come out to East Cobb to share so much with us. Separately, we shared some good news about the day center. Minutes are enclosed.
Finally, some really good news: Zion Baptist Church sent us on Monday their signed Covenant Letter for hosting for 2014. We are thrilled to have Zion Baptist as part of our hosting team. This makes 12 hosting congregations so we are nearly to our goal of having 13 hosting congregations. I will send out a 2014 hosting calendar in September so we can start planning for 2014. All volunteer coordinators should attend the training session at St. Catherine’s at 7 pm in the Parish Hall on September 3. This session will be put on by Jeanna Stewart our national director who will be coming down here from her Tennessee home just to train the VCs. Please - no volunteers needed at this session – just Volunteer Coordinators.
