Family Promise of Cobb County supporters,
We just completed training of our volunteer coordinators, volunteer hosts from our first congregation (St. James), the board members, and Camilla. So, it was a busy week, but we are just one step closer to opening our doors in January.
We are encountering some challenges with getting our day center ready, so we will have to delay using it until mid-January. Father Jim Nixon has graciously offered for us to use the youth house at St. Catherine’s for the first two or three weeks, until we can get the day center at East Cobb Methodist ready. We may have a work day later in December or early January to paint rooms and install carpet, and we will let you know.
Enclosed is an insert that we encourage you to include in your church bulletin advertising for a van and for volunteer van drivers. Please encourage your church to include it in their bulletin as soon as possible.
Also, we ask you to encourage your church to strongly consider including Family Promise of Cobb in their Christmas offering. Even if your church divides the offering with other charities, we will be very grateful for any amount that your congregation can give.
Thanks and have a wonderful weekend!
I’m sure we will be emailing again soon, as we continue to identify needs for our day center.
