I uploaded a map showing the original land grants in Loudoun Co., VA.
Though Broad Run Church no longer exists, the graveyard is located at
State Route 625 and Lefevre Inn Drive. Broadlands is .2 miles west of
the cemetery, Mount Hope Cemetery is 1 mile south.
On the land grants map, I put a red dot approximately where the Broad
Run Cemetery is located. The red square is the general area where the
property George Vandiveer purchased from Thomas Pritchard was located.
On the Proprietary Map in the bottom right I have also colored in and
labeled current Westmoreland County. The entire Proprietary area was
originally Westmoreland County before the other counties began to be
divided out.
Based on what I have read, Broad Run Cemetery and Mount Hope Cemetery
are the only ones in the area dating back to the 1760's - I may be
wrong, but it is possible that George Vandiveer was buried in either.
I will be uploading a new copy of the map where I identified the
locations of Vandiver's in Maryland and Virginia (I removed the
previous verison).
