Niclas Lindmeyer b. 1664 in Stockholm, Sweden, son of Georg Lindmerya nd Lucia Wolf.
m bet. Sep 1698 - June 1700 Christina (Jonasdotter) Nilsson. She was the widow of Frederick Frederickson King or Koenig.
Together they had sons George Lindmeyer b. 1701 and Christopher Lindmeyer b abt. 1703.
Niclas Lindmeyer was bur. at Gloria Dei (Phila Old Swedes) 9 Sept 1705.
I've seen it reported there are 50 ways to spell Lindmeyer...Linmire, Lindenmeyer, Lynmyre etc, I finally settled on Lindmeyer in my own notes, just because I tend to lose people in the data if I don't stay consistant.

Niclas Lindemeyer
, born in Stockholm in 1664 to Georg (Jurgen) Lindemeyer and Lucia wolf, had recently arrived on the Delaware and married c. 1700 Christia Jonasdotter, widow of Frederick Konig or King of Senamensing, Burlington county. See 1693 Census, 61 n.44
1693 Census p. 61
#55 Frederick Fredericksson King (Senamensing): (1659-1698)
The 1693 census names him "Friedrich Konig", also when he pledged support of Wicaco church in 1684, suggests German origin.
In Delaware River records called Frederck Fredericson and finally, Frederick King.
Born Sept 1659, he was in Burlington County by1680 sharing 500 acres on Pennsauken Creek with Capt. Hans Mansson (#54) and Jonas Keen (#44). He also bought 200 ajoining acres with John Hansson Steelman (#142).
Others in household of 5 included his wife's sister Brigitta and her brother Peter Jonasson.
King was chosen constable of Chester Twp 21 Feb 1697/8 but drowned in the Delaware 24 Sept 1698, leaving a widow and 5 children:
1.Elias King, b. May 1690.(
The Records of the Swedish Lutheran Churches at Raccoon and Penns Neck 1713- 1786 FWP 1938 Reprint GCHS 1982, p. 306. Racoon Creek 1719: On May 5 were married, Elias King and Elsa Hoffman.)2.Julia King b Sept 1693
3 & 4. twins Andrew and John King b. 11 Dec 1694
5. Alexander King b. 31 Mar 1697.(
The Records of the Swedish Lutheran Churches at Raccoon and Penns Neck 1713- 1786 FWP 1938 Reprint GCHS 1982, p. 306. Racoon Creek 1721:On January 4 were married Alexander King and Brigitta Hoffman.)The widow Chrstina King m 2nd Niclas Lindmeyer and had two sons, George (1701-1765) and Christopher (c. 1703-1756) Her second husband, b. in Stockholm in 1664 to Georg or Jurgen Lindmeijer and Lucia Wolf, was bur at Gloria Dei on 9 Sep 1705.
Open for discussion:
What I've done here is try to set up a context for clues...by neighborhood association as well as kin.
Craig said he was "recently arrived" so we don't know when he came in or with who. Imagine means this one of the first times he's found on record.
. .
So, the picture that emerges indicates he was a new arrival and almost immediately m. a widow with 5 kids, so, whatta man, right?
Though makes me think there was some sort of previous connection. Not exactly a kid either. b 1664, had to be abt. 35 when they married? Was she really his first wife? He was only 41 when he d. in 1705.
My guess is King, her late husband, some sort of military man. He was made sherriff of Chester county, (PA?) but had lived and owned all kinds of land in NJ by 1680 with CAPT Hans Monsson and Keen. I think of sherriff as the big guy with the gun, no doubt he knew how to use it. I haven't looked yet for probate or subsequent sales of lands, but figure if King was clear of debt, he had something to leave his kids and widow. But regardless if the Kings had moved to Chester co, or he commuted over the river to work.. in 1700 the church members list definitely places Niclas Lindmeyer and his bride on the NJ side of the river.
I haven't followed out on the records of Gloria dei for the King kids, but included the two son's marriages I found in Raccoon records, both to Hoffman or Hopman girls...likely sisters? Sort of suggest they may also have slid south, changed their location if not just church association to this side of the river over time.
Another question concerns his Widow, now mother of 7 and maybe younger than her first husband at least, could she have married yet another time after? If so, when and where?
She had her first child in 1690, so 20 year rule..say if she was b. c. 1670, when her 2nd husband Niclas d. in 1705, she'd have been abt. 35 to 40 years old. Though they say these days 50s the new 40. Back then more like 70, right?
She is supposed to be dau of Jonas Nilsson, but I need to work to reconnect all her brothers/sisters inlaws and outlaws yet. That's another whole big ball of wax, so any help appreciated, if anyone has already collected land/probate/Phila church records for any of this crew, would help to fill in the finer details. For now, this is what I've managed to rough out so far, using larger strokes..

Eww. I really hate how this looks now that it's been wrung through the mail slot. Must be the font/ftw uses since I cut notes from there before pasting in email. Sorry about the long spacing.
I just posted a jpg Lindmeyer outline on the web site for those who want to take a look:
I am NOT very good with this method of posting, and my ftw /memory problems are giving me grief on this end too, why in the form of a jpg file. I can send directly on request, either my notes or the outline.

Just a word to those who would post here. Apparently something about html took a note that I'd bold highlighted a name and instead repeated the entire note 3x. I assure you, that is not what it looked like when I sent it. ha. Again, happy to share direct if anyone else is interested in working through this line.
