Dear ones,

I find that this dialysis place has lap-tops that we can use, so I am writting this as I sit beside Leo while he is having dialysis.  He says he woke up at 1:30 this morning so he is taking a little nap.  We are very hopeful that this process will not last forever as his kidneys are starting to function again but probably not as much as they should.

Doug is taking very good care of me and we hope that it will not be more than 3 or 4 day before we will be able to take Leo back to Doug's home.  Three days ago they put someone in the other bed in his room at Sandy Regional Care which was a very unpleasant experience.  It was unpleasant for everyone including nurses, aids, and administration.  They moved him to another room yesterday and we breathed a sigh of relief, however we can still hear him on occasions even though he is several rooms away.

It is interesting to note that most people here in this snowy country are not all bundled up in winter jackets all the time.  Even though there is snow on the ground, many days are really quite pleasant - not by South African standards, but still OK.  This timid lady is very concerned about driving on snowy roads, but the really bad snow storms came while I still had daughters here to do the driving.  I have found myself driving with a lot more confidence than I thought I would have.  It has been over a month since we left Oregon for Utah and it will be 4 weeks tomorrow since Leo had his little incident.  We think he has made good progress and hope to be back home again before too long.

We have appreciated visits from many of you and good wishes from others.  Thanks for your support!!

Lots of love,

Leo and Bea
