Missing teeth

Hi, my son is 11 years and his missing 10 permanent teeth, I had some research and showes up that the people with this issue have high risk of having recal or testinal cancer, since that I can't stop crying I'm so worry, any one have any idea? I had one oppointment with orthodentist so far and she asked me to come back in six mounth just follow up im not happy with her. Please give me advise. Thanks

I hadn't heard about this until your post. There are so many genetic causes for oligodontia and they are not usually associated with cancer. Some have issues with just teeth, some have issues with teeth and hair, some with teeth and certain craniofacial issues - it really just depends. Unless your family also has a history of this type of cancer, I wouldn't worry. You can schedule an appointment a geneticist to discuss family history and do blood testing to try to identify the genetic issue causing the oligodontia.
