2) What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
The issue lies with Cheat system. I am using Geck cheats. If i right click on a game and select proprties. If i set cheats there it will work. But for these cheats i would need to terminate game.

There is also an a cheat manager that can run ingame. When using gecko cheats i find that window a little small for a large number of cheats. Too much scrollong for me but i can live with this defect. After i set the cheats i find that it doesn't wok.

If that is the case, then shouldn't be gecko codes section be removed from cheat manager. Or make it so that it is obvius that gecko can not be modified while game is running and have description on how to use it. I spend a an hour just to figure on how to use cheats.

I don't know about "Add X Character" code, but I just searched through Gecko OS codes (scrolling down individually), and I didn't find any code about cheating permadeath.

Don't know about AR codes, however.

Well, if you load Radiant Dawn using your wii, and you have Homebrew Channel on it, then that's the first step indeed. What you want to do is store your cheats into the .GCT file using Ocarina Code Manager, and then put it in the /codes/ folder in the root directory of your SD Card used for your Wii. Then make sure you have Gecko OS/Neogamma installed on your Homebrew Channel, and then boot up said app. Then load the cheat codes, and then boot up your Radiant Dawn disk.

That's at least how you do it using the Wii. If you're using Dolphin, I don't know. I have no Dolphin experience sadly, but I'm sure there's a guide for loading the .GCT codes on Dolphin somewhere.

Sorry if I couldn't have been more of a help. ^^;

If downloading the codes straight from Dolphin doesnt have the code you want, you can always check the Edit Config button on the lower-left of that very window shown in the video. And then proceed to insert whichever codes you want on your own.

I doubt this would end up working properly, because you need to find a specific "character slot" to add the character into. Since the game (at least from my experiences) doesn't have a standardized order for the character data, it ends up being quite difficult to predict which characters are stored in which locations, and there is a good chance that you might end up overwriting another character in doing so.

I'll try to do some experimenting to see what happens to a character slot upon their death and see if I can "revive" them when I have free time to mess around the save data, but unfortunately I'm a bit preoccupied with RL stuff at the moment.

EDIT: Actually, it might be simple if the game just uses a marker for whether or not the character is dead and keeps all their data stored even after death. This could be true, as it would be quite ostensible for the game to have some variable for each character whose data consists of something like "DB Army," "GM Army," "unrecruited," "dead," etc.

Are you using Dolphin? If so, changing the value of memory address 003CABD7 (probably via a code like 003CABD4 0100000x, x>1) should allow you to modify the clear number of your playthrough (you'll be able to verify if this works or not after saving).

OK, let me try one more time. Try activating a code "003CABD4 01000002" in your AR/Gecko code slot for Dolphin (not sure which, try both I guess), then load up your game and save on a different file to check if it works.

Sorry, I've got an essay due in a few hours (procrastinating by looking at the forum lol) so I can't really be more detailed than that right now. Later, when I'm more free I can perhaps give more detailed instructions and/or troubleshoot if necessary. Alternatively you could also just give me the save file and I can do this for you if it becomes too much trouble, but not right now obviously.

Using Nintendont is the recommended way to use practice codes. You can download the latest build by clicking this link (opens new window). Unpack the archive and place the Nintendont folder with all of its contents in the "apps" folder of your SD card. If there is no "apps" folder create one in the root of your SD card.

Visit the main site and select the appropriate game version from the dropdown menu. A list of available cheat codes will appear. Select all the cheats you want to have enabled from the list, choose GCT as file format and click "Download".

Create a "codes" folder in the root of your SD card if there is none and copy the GCT file you just downloaded into that folder. This is what the resulting folder structure should look like on your SD card (the .gct files might be different depending on the version you chose):

Open your Homebrew channel and from there launch Nintendont. Select SD and then press B on your Gamecube controller to see the settings. In your settings, make sure that "Cheats" are "On". You can switch it on/off by pressing A on your controller. (See image below)

The Cheat Manager is a homebrew application that allows you to generate GCTs on your Wii. This way you don't have to redownload your cheatfile everytime you want a different combination. However, you're gonna have to use a Wiimote to control the application.

Using the generator on the main site, select all the codes you want to have available on the cheat manager and choose "Cheat Manager TXT" as file format instead of "GCT" to download a text file formatted for use with the cheat manager. Create a "txtcodes" folder in the root of your SD card if there is none and copy the generated text file into that folder. The name of the text file doesn't matter if you use this application, since the games ID is stored in the textfile.

After activating your desired codes press "1" to generate the GCT file. The cheatmanager then creates the GCT file in your "codes" folder, overwriting the old one if there's already a GCT with the same name. If you now launch the game with cheats active the new codes will be loaded.

To use the codes with Dolphin choose "Dolphin INI" as file format instead of "GCT" to download the codes formatted for use with Dolphin. Alternatively, a zip archive containing all codes available on this site can be downloaded from here.

Dolphin doesn't use the same cheat loader as Nintendont. Its code limit is reached rather quickly and it won't tell you whether the codes you enabled exceed the internal limit. If your game crashes after enabling some codes, this might be the cause. Try to disable non-essential codes if that happens to you.

Right-click the game in Dolphin and, then click on "Properties" and on the bottom left corner of the property window click the "Edit configuration" button. Open the text file you downloaded and copy everything following the [Gecko] tag below the same tag in the configuration you just opened. If there is no [Gecko] tag (it should be the first tag), create one on top of your configuration file. Save and close the configuration file.

Right click the game in Dolphin and click on "Properties". In the "Game Config" section choose the "Editor" tab and paste the contents of the text file you just downloaded into the "User Config" editor.

for the wii There are some cheats that you can insert just having a modified wii with "usb loader". to do this you have to put these codes in the folder "codes" of the sd in the format GCT with a program (ocarina code manager).

I know how you fell, tried Uneek, but always gave me a black screen. I spent days trying to get emunand on Usb Loader Gx to work, and finally did it, if you get problems loading customs on emunand, just ask me on pm, and as I said before, custom generation doesnt work on emunand, so the only option is to replace official packs of contents.

Also, instead of replacing official content, you can merge customs with it, if you want to keep the song. On emunand you can also rearrange all the official DLCs as they were customs, any slot works, as long as the path in the DTA is right. Scores, leaderboards and online will still work according you kept the original song ID.
