I will put my trust in fellow members.  It makes my head spin!  If I am looking at that map right Rt 88 where I reside is in the zone to make commercial?

There’s a lot of blather in here that obscures what’s intended ( clearly the planning department is way overstaffed) but  one thing that jumped out at me was a proposal to limit new residential units in the “rural area” (essentially everything west of Falmouth Road) to a maximum of 1/3 of annual builds. The notion is to cram everything into the already heavily developed eastern side, complete with bike paths and busses.  That’s consistent with the forced urbanization inherent in the recent Rt. 1 plan but it sure isn’t why most folks (ok well me!)  wanted to come to Falmouth  (i.e good schools, nice house - big lot-  a bit of privacy) If I wanted to be crammed in I could have stayed in Portland

So what’s wrong with leaving well enough alone?  Oh, then you wouldn’t need a big planning department.

THREE CHEERS FOR THIS ONE!!!

I say eliminate 3/4 of the planning department, and we would go back to being a townspeople by the townspeople for the townspeople.

Well said. Planners need something to plan. If there is nothing to plan, well, they come up with something. Let the people say we need something.
