Following up on the Fall Classics (Important)

First - I have some roster spots available for players who are not in any Fall Classic - let me know if you have an interest. (Some spots are FREE but have to offer on first come first served basis)

Second - I have spots available for the Desert Fall Classic (Las Vegas) - October 26-29 please let me know if you're interested. (All spots are FREE, but have to offer on first come first served basis)

Third - When communicating your schedules to college emails there are a few things that need your attention.

1) Create your schedule is an easy to read format that you'll have available for college coaches (see sample below).  DO NOT JUST FORWARD YOUR LINK TO ANY COLLEGE COACH.  Take the time to do it RIGHT and show that coach that you care about his program, you are interested in his program and you are aware of what his program is all about.  If you do not know, then why are you even trying to get him to watch you?  Do your research on them, just as you'd like them to do their research on you!  This is an extremely important piece of the recruiting process and finding the right college for you.  Without this piece, you might find a place to play but usually end up transferring because it's not a good fit.  This is never a good situation to be in and not why we are working together.

2. Make sure that you know the exact games you are playing in and (if possible) when you are hitting.  Pitchers it is extremely important!  If your team has not told you this, then you need to ask.

3) Send this e-mail out to each college coach on your list and I will do the same.

4) Send a follow up email if there are any changes at all in your schedule (this is likely to happen at least once within your team as coaches try to juggle playing time in front if the right college coaches).  If there are no changes, then send a follow up letting them know you are excited for the weekend and nothing within your schedule has changed. (and include again).

5)  Email me your schedule so I can email it to coaches as well as you, have it available for coaches who ask and can post to Field Level - THIS IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY, I can only help you if you help me.

6)  I always do my best to promote you to the right colleges and talk about you to each college that inquires or is possibly seeking a certain type of player (position) but if I do not know what you are doing, that makes it much more difficult.  Remember, it is YOUR RESPONSIBILITY to get the info out to the coaches about when you're playing.  This is definitely something that you need to be accountable to.

Hope this helps as you prepare for a great week, feel free to use the format below if you'd like.
