The current ideas listed on http://www.falconpl.org/index.ftd?page_id=socil could use a little refreshing.

I'm planning to include a debugger.

Please reply and list any/all ideas and I'll update the page accordingly.

Thanks

Paul

Debugger is a must so I would say good idea.

1. How about developing language modes for editors like emacs and vim
and any other editors out there (I know there is one already for
Anjuta). This will make it easy for new developers to adopt to falcon
on their loved editors.

Of course this is just my idea but I don't have required expertise to mentor
it :-)

Editor "modes" exist for just about any editor you want. I maintain
the Vim version myself; speaking of Vim, as of the last release or
two, falcon is included by default.

I think there are many used editors out there which lack support for falcon, and I believe that this is critical for the acceptance of a new language.

I use textmate as an example, which is a very common editor on the OSX arena.

I was to implement this myself, my frankly. The lack of updated documentation of falcon made it impossible.

The online (wiki) version of the Survival Guide, although not very
ergonomic, is complete and updated at version 0.9.6.9:

http://falconpl.org/index.ftd?page_id=sitewiki&prj_id=_falcon_site&sid=wiki&pwid=Home&wid=Survival+Guide

As for text editor support, there is a complete BNF grammar definition here:

http://falconpl.org/index.ftd?page_id=sitewiki&prj_id=_falcon_site&sid=wiki&pwid=Home&wid=Survival+Guide

Reachable from the wiki root page:

http://falconpl.org/index.ftd?page_id=sitewiki

It's 2 clicks away from site root.

Gian.

Interesting. Does one exist for emacs? If so please let me know because
I only use emacs.

I guess not. All of the editor support I am aware of is stored here:

http://www.falconpl.org/index.ftd?page_id=prjs&prj_id=highlights&sid=dloads

I've never used emacs beyond that initial encounter that went
something like "This is weird... back to vi!"
