Hello Douglas,

Thank you for your email and interest in the Prototypes for Humanity programme.

Linked here is our website where you can find further information, including details of past projects and all universities that have taken part to date. On this link is an entry guide with further useful information on the submission process.

Your colleagues and students are of course most welcome to contact me directly if that would be helpful.

Dear Sarah,

Thank you for contacting us. I would like to register our department's interest in participating in the selection process for the exhibition and other activities. I would like to ask if there is any promotional material, with the main themes and approaches, that we can send to students, alumni, and teachers. This would make it easier for us to gauge interest in registering for the event.

Thank you in advance, and I am available for further communication.

Sincerely,

Prof. Douglas Ladik Antunes

Dear Professor Antunes,

I am reaching out from Prototypes for Humanity, a global platform offering tangible opportunities to academics from around the world, from publications, grants and conferences, to industry collaborations and funded project development.

Given the relevance of your department’s work, we believe that you and your students would be well placed to participate in this year’s annual summit, which comprises 2 main elements:

Exhibition
We welcome submissions from students and recent graduates. Selected participants will receive:

  • Global media exposure
  • Free accommodation and subsidised flights for you and your students
  • Eligibility for a share of a $100,000 awards fund
  • An extensive and engaging programme in Dubai
  • Opportunity for project funding

Projects submitted by May 18th will receive priority consideration for an early exhibition invitation, providing additional time for preparation and venture-building support. Projects not selected at this stage may receive guidance for resubmission.

Application and participation in all elements of the programme are free of charge. Further details and the application form are available here.

Wider Programme
Building on the success of the 2025 programme, we will expand our dedicated Professors’ track this year, featuring a call for short papers to be presented in Dubai and formally published. The programme will also host PechaKucha presentations, industry sandpits, and R&D-focused industry sessions designed to catalyse new research collaborations. Further details will be announced shortly.

Current situation in Dubai
In light of recent events, I also wanted to reassure you that our programmes and initiatives in Dubai are continuing to move forward as planned. We remain grateful for the support of our global academic community and will keep participants informed of any developments that may affect the programme.

If you would like to discuss how the programme could align with your research, or departmental priorities, you are welcome to book a short Teams call with me here.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Best wishes,

Sarah Ward
