Ifyou don't have a work account and only want to authorize non-team functionality, you will need to configure your app/authorization flow without the team scopes. You can find more information on how this works in the OAuth Guide and authorization documentation.

the above explanation didn't work for me.

I have a business dropbox account - and to proceed further I am told "I need a business dropbox account..."

what is a team scopes? - where can I find it?

Now what should I do? I am not a tech geek.

Hence paragraph 2 and 3 is meaningless to me.

If you have question why particular application ask you to log in in such a way, ask... the application developer or support. I doubt somebody here, on this forum, can give you reliable answer of such a question. If you are not developer of the particular application, you cannot change the application expected scopes, that's why you don't even need to know what's that.

One thing you should know though is that such a message invite you to log in with admin credentials! If you're not admin, you cannot authorize the entire team (something the application expects), but only yourself. If this is not part of the application (you're using) documentation, signal/complain to supplier.

I am logged in to dropbox on both of my computers; I downloaded the Dropbox app from the App Store, and it will not accept those same credentials on my iPhone. Says logon andor password are incorrect.

My problem is solved. I am not sure what worked, but I removed 2-step verification from my Dropbox logon, cleared all history and cookeis from the iPhone, downloaded the Dropbox app one more time and was able to able to log in smoothy and access all my files.

I cannot log in to Dropbox on my iPhone using either the app or the Dropbox.com website. I am logged in on both the desktop and laptop computers just fine. Just get the standard 'invalid email or password' message.

I actually meant using a web browser on your computer, and this is meant as a test to make sure you're using the correct log in information. If you're getting "Invalid email or password" then it's very likely that you're using an incorrect email address or password. If you get the same message while logging in on the Dropbox website, then you are most definitely using the wrong information.

Have you tried to reset your password?

I cannot log in to Dropbox on my iPhone using either the app or the Dropbox.com website using Safari. I am logged in to Dropbox just fine on both the desktop and laptop computers. But when I try to log in to Dropbox on the phone, using those same credentials I get the standard 'invalid email or password' message'. (Seeing as how the logon and password work on the macbook and iMac - do you still think I should change the logon and password?)

Some months ago I downloaded Dropbox app to the phone and thought everything was fine, but really did not use it. I had a different logon and password. Sometime later, I realized that I was not able to see or access any of the same files from the phone that were on the computers, and so I suspect I must have created an entirely different account. In any event, today I deleted the app from the phone, powered down the phone, waited, powered the phone back up, downloaded the Dropbox app from the App Store again. And this is when I am unable to log in using the same logon and password that works on the computers. I am trying all this with the computers on and logged in to Dropbox.

I am running the latest version of Ventura on Mac. After being a long time fan of dropbox, I decided to stop using it after having problems with the syncing function and the way it would move files around. Even after deleting the application, dropbox remains in "login items" underneath "Allow in the background." When starting up my mac, I get a notification message that dropbox wants to work in the background. How can I completely remove dropbox from my Mac?

I have been in contact with dropbox support and they have not been able to provide a solution. They recommend I contact apple support but I haven't had good luck with apple support recently, so I'm waiting till I'm in a patient mindset and ready to deal with a long customer support call.

Here are the instructions that the dropbox support offered me but when I typed in the terminal commands, I received the error message that "no file or folder exists." PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF THIS WORKS FOR YOU AND IF YOU FIND A SOLUTION. Best of luck!

To also remove the Dropbox folder from your hard drive, drag your Dropbox folder to the Trash.

The next step I would advise in order to Delete the remaining Dropbox system folders is to do the following;

Just a heads up, after two phone calls with apple, they weren't able to help me remove the login item. But I was getting a notification each time I started up my Mac that dropbox was adding background items and that seems to have stopped. All we did was startup in safe mode, restart the computer and then shutdown. Still probably need to try rebooting a few more times to be certain but I figured I would give this update.

Is that via a thirdparty app @dracen658 ? If so you need to ask them for help. To me it looks like the software is out of date and not able to connect but you'd need to verify that with the app developer.

When I try to log into my account (I enter my login and password correctly) and press enter, the circle next to the login button starts to rotate. So it spins for a very long time and nothing happens. As a result, the message "Authorization timed out. Close the browser and try authorization again" appears. The same thing happens on repeat. Latest firmware version.

Thank you for the quick response, I appreciate it so much. 2FA is not turned on & I tried signing in multiple ways; using Google sign in, that not working, signing out & signing back in with my actual username & password. I even used multiple different browsers thinking it might be a Safari problem but I ran into the same issue using Chrome as well.
