Hi Sarah, it sounds like you are ultimately trying to open a link in a new tab. The best way to do this is with the "Click HTML Link" Action with  the "open in new tab" option selected.

you can "Connect" this to your link. See here: http://vimeo.com/14701789

Having problems with activation right-click by using the Dispatch Mouse Event.

Step 1: Load URL (www.google.co.uk)
Step 2: Dispatch Mouse Event (right-click and then open in new tab)

Used the control button and linked the mouse event to "Advertising Programmes" URL at the bottom of the google.co.uk page. I wanted to activate right-click on "Advertising Programmes"and then choose "open in new tab" option from the right-click option.

When I run the steps they all go through however I don't see the right-click options displaying so that I can set the next step of click on the "open tab in new window".

How can I activate the right-click menu and then click one of the options?

Many thanks.

Sarah

Hi Sarah, well, it's impossible to say for sure. The events necessary to produce a right click might be different across different sites and also depending on what exactly "right click" means in this situation.

I would recommend instrumenting the page with event listeners, and then performing an normal "right click". Look at the event stream that is produced, and then try to reproduce the exact event stream using the various Fake Actions (possibly Dispatch Mouse Event) or via raw JS.

Hi Tod,

It works fine on the google page so that's brilliant however when it's to do with automating some actions on my web hosting account such as deleting a file from the public_html folder of my website, that's when I really need the Dispatch Mouse Event.

I tried successfully to create a workflow on Fakeapp right down to selecting the file (image file) on the public_html folder but when it comes to deleting it, I have to initiate a right-mouse click (or a control left mouse click) to activate the menu where I must choose the delete option.

There is a Dispatch Mouse Event option on Fakeapp and I've tried several times but it's not working. There must be something I'm not doing right so if you can help me with the right-click I'd be really grateful!
