We're seeing a problem with Fake after installing the recent Safari 5.1.7 update. Several websites now have a black background in various input fields. Confirmed that a system running Safari 5.1.5 doesn't have this issue; updating to 5.1.7 makes this issue appear. Safari itself doesn't show the issue.

Examples with Fake 1.8.4: visit www.macosxhints.com - search box is ok, login & password show black background. http://www.appleinsider.com/submit_story/ - some fields black, some not. http://www.w3schools.com/ search box has black background. All these load fine in Safari.

Many of my Fake workflows handle log in and some data entry but most require further input via the operator, so this makes it difficult to get error-free data entry. Hopefully this is easy to fix.

Thanks for your help!

ps - any chance we'll ever get an action or preference to hide the Action Library? About half of my workflows involve operator interaction with websites and that window is their biggest complaint! Thanks :)

Hi Nick, yes I am seeing this as well in the Independently-sold version of Fake (the Mac App Store version does not have this issue).

I have no idea of the cause, but it looks like a fresh build of the App under Lion/Xcode4.3 fixes the issue. So I will be shipping a fix soon (this weekend).

Sorry for the problem, I have no idea what's going on there (WebKit might have broken compatibility with fat binaries including PPC support).

RE: Library palette, this might help: Main Menu > Window > Arrange Windows (cmd-ctrl-1)

I just posted the fix as v1.8.5 :)

Let me know if you run into any issues.

thx,
