I wanted to send a little background and update regarding my son Chance.
First of all, I cannot thank you all for your thoughts and prayers.
Chance is 11 years old. He has a long medical background that starts all the way from the beginning. He was delivered early due to complications with the pregnancy. Both he and I had a big “Chance” that we would not make it, but God obviously needed us for his plan, and we both made it through without any problems. We were prepared for the worst, and thanks be to God, received the best!
So, Chance has had a number of medical issues but the recent issue is a tumor in his right tibia bone. Last year we found a lump on his leg in which the doctors removed by burring out the bad part of the bone and inserting a temporary rod in his leg. They figured that it would take 6-12 months to heal. But, after 14 months, his leg has become more swollen and the pain site has increased. The X-Rays have not shown any improvement since December. The doctors do not know what is going on, and have no understanding as to why his leg is not healing. They have been doing lots of blood work also which shows to be slightly out of normal ranges, but not enough to worry them. I also need to tell you that when the doctor removed the tumor, they were not able to do a biopsy or pathology due to the tumor actually being a “mushy and shredded” matter. They hadn’t seen anything like that before. To put it mildly, it’s scary and frustrating. We do not know what it was in the first place, and now to think it may be coming back makes my mind race with horrible thoughts. BUT…. The great and BEST news is the fact that the Mighty Physician knows exactly what’s going on. God has a plan for all of us, and I know that Chance is in his perfect plan. Chance never complains. He is such a strong boy and loves the Lord with all of his heart. He prays with a purpose… He teaches me that God’s will is perfect. We need to trust in him.
We go back to the doctor in August to do more tests and X-Rays. The doctors have discussed casting his leg again or placing a permanent rod in his leg to see if that will strengthen it so it can heal. We don’t know what’s ahead but we are getting a second opinion and we will continue to pray for God to lead us in the right direction. We know he guides us, but I also have to remember to listen and to follow him.
Thank you for all of prayers. There is no better gift on this Earth than the privilege to be able to talk directly to our Heavenly Father. Wow, he is truly AWESOME!
Most importantly I want to thank my Sister in Christ, my sweet and dear friend, and my gift from God…Connie. It was NO accident that we met. Again, it was all in God’s plan. He knew I needed you!

Is Heidi related to Chance?
What are Heidi's and Chance's stories? I don't see any update on Chance and really would like to know what's going on. In the meantime, I'll keep praying for them but would appreciate more information.
