Fall Garden 2014 Update

Thank you Doris, Sharon, Kelly & Lucy for your work last weekend!

The garden got a much needed spruce-up and looks great!

Here's what we did:

Mixed horse manure into the beds

Supplemented the beds with a mix of gypsum, fish meal and other materials supplied by Kelly

Weeded and culled the herbs

Re-shaped the small bed where the artichoke used to live

Harvested compost from the worms and added into the beds

Planted seedlings

In a couple of months our seedlings will be ready for harvest:  2 varieties of kale, rainbow chard and lettuce mix. Thank you Kelly!

We will also be planting broccoli, fava beans and possibly peas later in the season.  There is room for more seedlings in the raised and center beds so send your suggestions to the group.

It was a good work day at the garden and looks really nice.  Thank you to everyone who helped.  My watering day is Monday.

Hey all! Just wanted to send a shout out to Betsy who came over early and helped on Saturday too.
