Hi Kelly,
I have always wanted to keep the garden area looking as nice as possible because it is an area for the whole community to use.  I think it is called the serenity area.  I think too many tomato wires in and around the center area are very unattractive so always wanted them to be to the right.  It is my way of keeping other owners from complaining.  I do appreciate all of your interest in keeping the area planted in and looking good.

Sounds great Kelly.  I don't have a problem with tomatoes going in beside the raised bed, or on the other side of the
artichokes.  What does everyone else prefer?

Currently, there are a few bush beans in the center.  I think there's enough room for a few more....or once the broccoli is
removed from the raised bed, perhaps there?  I think there are several places it would do well.  FYI, the broccoli is
on it's last leg, so feel free to remove it if you want to plant there.

Thanks for providing seedlings for the garden!
Heather

hi everybody--
I just wanted to touch base with you all about the plans for garden space in the near future.   IV school is having a heirloom tomato seedling fundraiser sale this weekend and I would like to get a few to try.  I know we haven't had much luck with heirlooms in the past, but will there be any space for at least a bush or two?  Also, Lucy is germinating some bush beans and I think they might be ready to transplant in the next few weeks; are there any plans for that area next to the beds where the pile of manure currently is?  I know we've had squash in there in the past but  it looks like we've got squash in the beds.  Or maybe over there next to the artichoke where there is currently nothing?
Let me know what you think--I will turn over the soil when I have an idea of where beans/ tomatoes might work best.
Kelly
P.S. Please come to the "TomatoMania" heirloom seedling fundraiser this Saturday from 10:00-3:00 at Isla Vista Elementary.   They are trying to raise funds to keep Farmer Mike, the guy who runs the garden and gardening program at IV school.  Spread the word!
