In the types of swings, Fairway needs a "tee box" swing. Hitting off a
tee usually goes farther than hitting off the fairway, so that needs
to be taken into account.

I am planning on adding that to a near future release when I add user
customizable swing locations. I went back and forth on making a long
list but in the ended wanted to get something out there and get
peoples feedback on the application. I appreciate the feedback.

It's fine for now - I only have fairway set up and I generally
remember that off the tee things are maybe 5-7 yards longer.

Of course, after that there's tee elevation, ground condition, etc.

As an FYI, after playing a round with Fairway, it's really great!

Two feature that'd be nice would be to actually be able to walk off
your yardage and mark it (via GPS). That way if you had no idea how
far a club went, you could measure it yourself over a variety of
conditions. The other would be to see the yardages in the bag info,
though with the multiple swings per club I'm not sure how to do that.
Maybe if you rotate the iPhone it shows a view with the clubs/swing/
distance information?

Great app, though! I usually tape the yardages to my club (a la pelz),
but there's only so much that'll fit on a piece of tape.

The Pelz school of thought is what inspired me to write this
application. I got tired of carrying around a tore up 3x5 card covered
in chicken scratch and I hated having to rewrite it ever few weeks.

I appreciate the feedback ... look for the customizable locations in
version 1.1. I think I've finally nailed the right user interface for
it and just have to finish implementing and testing it out. I'll try
to post some screenshots of it on the WideAsleep Blog soon.

Thanks again ...

Yeah, for the Pelz thing I had the distances stuck on a piece of
masking tape inside the cavity back of my TaylorMades...which worked,
but wasn't really that dynamic. Plus I changed my swings, so all the
distances were wrong anyway. I think I had the full swing, 9 o'clock
swing, and 7:30 swing distances.

That's why this app is so great! Now I have to figure out where to put
my iPhone so the extra weight doesn't disrupt my swing.

Oh, one other variable to add might be "which ball." I found out by
accident that a wilson zero goes about 12 yards farther than a wilson
50...which was bad, since I was on an approach and almost hit the next
tee box. The downside is it requires either a whole new set of clubs
to be entered or something like a "ball modifier", where a ball
increases or decreases the distance by a percentage (or yardage).
