Track ~ Last Chance Meet coming up!!

Hello team!

We are nearing the end of the season and I have a lot of ribbons to hand out from previous track meets!!  I plan to do this Monday, so please come back to practice...even if you've checked out for the season.  I would love to recognize you!  I have ribbons from the 4/20 Fairview JV Meet, the 4/27 JV Championship meet that was hosted in Longmont and the recent League Championships that were hosted in Fort Collins!

Here is the plan for the week:

Monday, 5/9

• Meet at the track for awards, followed by team warm-up!
• Practice as normal.
• Entries for the St. Vrain last chance meet are due.  Only qualifying times are accepted into this meet.  We will talk to each of you at practice if you qualify.  Please do your best to make this practice!

Tuesday, 5/10

• Practice as normal.  Meet at the track for a 4:10pm start with warm-ups.

Wednesday, 5/11

• Practice as normal, but we need to be off the track by 5:15pm for a Girls LAX playoff game.  This will be a quick, efficient practice.  Be ready to go at 4:10pm.

Thursday, 5/12

• Pre-Meet focus at practice today for those competing at St. Vrain.  Be ready to go at 4:10pm with warm-up's.

Friday, 5/13

• There will be no JV practice this day!  
• St Vrain last chance track meet at Longmont High School (1040 Sunset St, Longmont, CO 80501) for those that qualify.
• Bus will be provided and you are encouraged to ride it!!  
• Bus departs FHS at 8am (charter bus).
• Return to FHS expected around 10pm (yellow school bus).
• Schedule is attached!  It's a long, but REALLY fun day!!
• There are 84 schools and everyone attending has a qualifying mark!  Great competition to get you ready for State!
• Weather will be in the 70's and sunny, so plan your bag of goodies now.  Extra water, food, sunscreen, layers of clothing, hat, sunglasses, uniform (must all match if you are in a relay), training shoes, competition spikes, blanket or chair for the tent.

• End of Season recognition is coming up!  As I look at my calendar, it seems overwhelmingly full, as I'm sure it is for all of you.  I do want to do something fun for all of our athletes however, so I've created a short 2 question survey to get an idea of how you would like to see this event take place and when.  Please take a moment to fill this out and I'll announce the outcome in a future email.  Click here to take the survey!

The season is not over yet everyone!  We have a lot of athletes that will be competing at the State Track Meet!  If you are not competing in the St. Vrain track meet on Friday, we'd love to see you after school to cheer on your teammates for a spot in the state meet.  Let's have a great week!  Go Knights!
