Fairfax Little League Coach Selected to Receive Pollin Award

by his peers to receive the Pollin Award for community service.
The Pollin Award, named for longtime Washington Wizards owner Abe
Pollin, was created to honor individuals in the Maryland/DC/Virginia
area who show an exemplary level of dedication to their community.
The Washington Wizards teamed up with the Positive Coaching Alliance
(PCA) to honor the Washington DC Metropolitan coaches. PCA's mission
is to "transform youth sports so sports can transform youth".

Scott Pierce has been active in Fairfax Little League for many years
as a coach, manager, and tournament team manager. Scott has also held
several positions on the Board of Directors, including Assistant
Director of Fall Ball and American League Director of Sponsors. He
has been a mentor for countless players, coaches and fellow Board
members. He quietly leads by example with a focus on fairness,
sportsmanship and positive attitudes for all - players, coaches and
families. He remains cool under pressure, setting the example of how
to behave both on and off the field. In addition to his countless
hours supporting Fairfax Little League, Scott is also actively engaged
with other youth sports organizations such as the Mantua Basketball
League, the Mantua Swim Team, and the Fairfax Bulldogs baseball team.
The award will be presented at center court during halftime of the
January 20th Wizards vs Mavericks game (7PM tip off) and is made
possible through a partnership between Positive Coaching Alliance and
