[For those of you who played in the Spring and are not participating
this Fall, we promise to keep the League wide e-mails to a minimum so
you can stay subscribed and get notices about Spring registration in
just three months. However, if you wish to unsubscribe, instructions
can be found at the bottom of this note.]

Games start this week with over 500 players and 46 teams. Our weekly
schedule includes 44 games each week and just as many practices.
Managers have shared team schedules and the all the game schedules
have been posted on the team pages of the Fall Ball Section of
www.fairfaxll.com. (You must be an eteamz member to view the team
websites.) Please note that your Manager’s communications take
precedence over the website information.

Be sure to mark down October 24th as Picture Day. Information about
the end of season tournament schedule will be available shortly.

Parents have raised issues about the game start times for those fields
that do not have lights (primarily AA). We understand the hardship
early start times impose on families, however, in order to have
sufficient time to complete a game as the days get shorter, early
start times are unavoidable. Since the initial schedules, we did
adjust start times to allow a minimum of one hour and 25 minutes
rather than a full two hours before a game must be stopped (10 minutes
following sunset – see the Appendix B Local Rules at
http://eteamz.active.com/fairfaxll/files/2009FFXLocalRules.pdf). As a
result, GAME start times on unlit fields (Pickett #2 & #3, Providence
#2, and Eakin Park) will be variable by week:

9/7/09 6:00
9/14/09 6:00
9/21/09 5:45
9/28/09 5:30
10/5/09 5:15
10/12/09 5:15
10/19/09 5:00

We encourage parents to seek out opportunities to carpool to avoid too
much disruption to work and other schedules. Please contact your
Manager or the Team Parent to coordinate car pooling.

Finally, if you want additional e-mail addresses added to this group,
got to www.fairfaxll.com and look for the Google Groups’ Subscribe to
Fairfax Little League Button half way down the page.

See you at a ball field soon!
