Hello Dominion League families,

I hope everyone is having a great holiday season and enjoying the
unseasonably warm weather!! But I know what a lot of you are thinking…
I’m finally done shopping and today is officially halfway to spring
training!! When does baseball start again??

For Little League, registration is OPEN NOW!!! You can register at
www.FairfaxLL.com

Spring Evaluations
Evaluations aren't that far away: Fairfax Little League player
evaluations will be held at Fairfax High School on Sunday February 19,
2012 for AA-Majors and Sunday February 26, 2012 for Juniors and
higher. Those players desiring to play T-Ball (first or second season
6 and under) or Single A (6-7) need not attend; but, all players
league age 7 (as of 4/30/12) and above who are considering playing AA
or higher must attend unless you were already on a major’s roster in
spring 2011.

If you are not sure what level your 7- or 8-year old child should play
(A or AA), we strongly recommend bringing them to tryouts to get
evaluated by the coaches. You can also contact Steve Davison (Dominion
League Player Agent, scda...@cox.net) for more information.

Please plan for at least one parent per household to attend a Little
League workshop on February 19 that focuses on teaching life lessons
through youth sports.

We are all volunteers!!
Fairfax Little League can only succeed with the help of volunteers!
The League has no paid staff and depends upon countless volunteers for
everything from managing and coaching to umpiring to concessions,
field maintenance, fund raising, etc. You can volunteer to help by
contacting Cheryl Wagner at cheryl.be...@gmail.com.

1) A/T-Ball Commissioner Needed
Ever wonder how to get involved in setting the tone to love the game
among our youngest players? Fairfax Dominion League is looking for an
A/T-ball commissioner to organize our entry-level leagues. This is the
easiest of the Board positions and a great way to get your feet wet
and get involved. Plus, this is the position I held last year so
you’ve got on the job training guaranteed!! If you’re interested in
more information (no commitment required for info), please contact me
at asle...@verizon.net.

2) Great Managers and Coaches Wanted!
Each team needs a manager and a few coaches. We had a great group
volunteering to teach the great game of baseball last year and are
looking forward to the Spring. If you are interested in managing or
coaching a team, please click on the link below to complete the
nomination form and send it to me.
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/viewform?formkey=dDNXWGZsNm96WXRnMHR3R1ZmUnFkbHc6MQ.

3) Umpires
Well-trained and interested umpires ensure a great season! The League
pays youth umpires, but relies heavily on volunteers for T-Ball
through Juniors, especially in tournament season. The League provides
equipment and training. Visit our Umpires Page to find out how you can
offer your assistance. http://www.fairfaxll.com/Page.asp?n=42040&snid=jONEZ5N6%5F&org=fairfaxll.com

4) Sponsors
We need sponsors to help pay for all those great things your kids use
each year. If you are interested (or know of anyone or an organization
who might be) in being a sponsor (team, field, etc)…please contact
Will Macht at will...@cox.net

Winter Training Clinics
Please visit http://www.fairfaxll.com/Page.asp?n=45217&snid=jONEZ5N6%5F&org=fairfaxll.com
to learn more about the training opportunities available over the
winter.

Hope to see you around in the upcoming months. Meanwhile, have a safe
and happy holiday season!!

We honor the game!

Hey Dominion League families,

If your favorite football team's season is done (sorry about that), there's always baseball to look forward to. Preparations have already begun to ensure a great spring Little League season for your players. While you're enjoying the long, holiday weekend, all you need to do is consider...

1) registering early!!!
While board members and AA-majors managers get ready for evaluation day next month, you can register at www.FairfaxLL.com, if you haven't already done so. Early registration is a win-win, getting you a $25 discount and helping us plan the right number of teams, managers, and evaluation day volunteers for the upcoming season.

2) Winter Training Clinics
Ready to pick up the bat and glove, or just get the kids out of the house? Please visit http://www.fairfaxll.com/Page.asp?n=45217&snid=jONEZ5N6%5F&org=fairfaxll.com to learn more about the training opportunities available over the winter, including:

* GMU One-Night Pitching Clinic this Thursday (1/19) - for 7-13 year olds
* Virginia Baseball Club: Mondays at Merrifield from Feb 6-Mar 12 (6-730 for AA-AAA; 730-9 for majors, jrs, srs)
And more (for managers and coaches too)...

3) Managing
Managing is one of the most rewarding experiences an adult can have in Little League, helping to teach players how to compete hard, be good sports, develop their skills, and play the game the right way. If you are interested in managing a team, especially at AA, A, or T-ball, please let me know by replying to this e-mail, as well as indicate it when you register.

4) Umpiring
Well-trained and interested umpires ensure a great season! The League pays youth umpires, but relies heavily on adult volunteers for T-Ball through Juniors, especially in tournament season. The League provides equipment and training. Visit our Umpires Page to find out how you can offer your assistance. I'll be taking the clinic myself this preseason. Join me... http://www.fairfaxll.com/Page.asp?n=42040&snid=jONEZ5N6%5F&org=fairfaxll.com

5) Did I mention registering early? See #1...or just cut to the chase and go to www.FairfaxLL.com

Look forward to seeing most of you in about a month,

OK, seriously...it's like 60 degrees out so you gotta be thinking at
least a LITTLE about the upcoming baseball season. That'd be smart
because the $25 early registration DISCOUNT ENDS TUESDAY, JANUARY 31.

Preparations are underway for the Sunday, February 19 AA-majors
evaluations from 530-10pm at Fairfax HS. Here's all you need to do...

1) register early!!!
You can register at www.FairfaxLL.com, if you haven't already done so.
Early registration is a win-win, getting you a $25 discount and
helping us plan the right number of teams, managers, and evaluation
day volunteers for the upcoming season. DISCOUNT FOR AA and higher
ends Tuesday, January 31.

2) VBC Spring Training Workouts
Space is still available for Fairfax LL players in discounted classes
on Mondays starting February 6. Go to www.FairfaxLL.com to learn
more.

3) Umpiring
Well-trained and interested umpires ensure a great season! The League
pays youth umpires, but relies heavily on adult volunteers for T-Ball
through Juniors, especially in tournament season. The League provides
equipment and training. Visit our Umpires Page at www.FairfaxLL.com to
find out how you can get in the game and help train tomorrow's
citizens and leaders. Training starts Monday, February 6.

4) No, seriously...go register at www.FairfaxLL.com, if you haven't
already.

5) Mark February 19 on your calendar for AA-majors evaluations
ALL players ages 8-12 who were not on a majors team last spring MUST
attend evaluations. All 7-year olds who have already played A (machine
pitch) must also attend, even if they plan on playing A again (it's
good experience).
We'll post the schedule for all age groups in early February for some
time between 530-10pm at Fairfax HS (younger kids will go earlier).

6) Any other questions?
Figure out the pattern above? Go to www.FairfaxLL.com to register and
for more information so your family will be set for a great upcoming
spring of baseball.

Look forward to seeing most of you in about three weeks,

Alex Lennon
