Broody hen??

Hi,
I have what I believe to be a broody hen and hope I am doing
everything right. We only have three hens and no roosters with no
interest in more chickens at this time. She is all puffed up and
clucking funny and refusing to leave the nest for over a week. I have
been removing any eggs quickly, and forcing her off the nest to go eat
and drink. Any other suggestions or ideas as to how long she might be
at it?

Two good ideas came to me off line and I wanted to share them. One
suggestion was to take her off the nest and put her on the roost at
night and she may wake up and forget. The other recommended keeping
her bottom cool by putting her in a cage with a wire bottom which is
off the ground for ventilation. I will let you know how it goes.
