We have some excellent news! Students Making Trade Fair will be
combining forces with Gators for a Sustainable Campus! The two
groups will be working closely together to accomplish many fair
trade goals. This means that we will have our very own "task
force" within the GSC, which will bring us more active members, as
well as more organization to help make fair trade a larger reality
on campus and within our community.
For those of you that are already members of GSC, we hope that
this brings you fewer conflicts with meeting schedules. For those
of you that haven't attended a Gators for a Sustainable Campus
meeting before, here's your opportunity to become further involved
in great initiatives. The meetings are always motivating and
well-planned.
We will have our first meeting as a task force THIS evening,
Tuesday, the 23rd of October (Sorry for the short notice!!) right
after the GSC meeting. The Gators for a Sustainable Campus
meeting starts at 6:30 pm in Rinker 110. Students Making Trade
Fair will give a brief announcement calling anyone that is
interested in fair trade to join us afterward.
Also, anyone that is looking for leadership positions within the
group, please come by tonight or email Amanda Smith (secretary) at
maxd...@ufl.edu if you can't make it out. We have two positions
open currently- President and Treasurer. These are very important
roles and anyone interested in running for either one will need to
sit down with the other officers to go over responsibilities. As
much training as you need will be provided by the former treasurer
and president.
We hope to see you all at the meeting tonight!
-The Fair Trade Team
