This is an opt-in subscription mailing list to receive notifications when components of FAIR-in-a-Box (FiaB) have been updated. Updates can happen due to identified vulnerabilities, bug-fixes, or new functionalities being added.
These updates are a "best-effort" at ensuring your FiaB installation is as secure and up-to-date as possible. THIS IS NOT A GUARANTEE OF SECURITY, and your local security measures (beyond the FiaB code) should always remain a top priority for your own installation, even if you follow all recommendations made via this mailing list.

Often, the instructions sent via this alert service will simply involve changing the version number of a FiaB docker-compose component. Whenever relevant, we will also include an explanation of why the update is being recommended. Whenever possible, we will also give an indication of whether this will affect your existing (meta)data. Nevertheless, we always recommend that you make backups of your (meta)data before moving to a new version of any component. This is standard advice for any data system, and you should always follow it. We will not be responsible for any (meta)data loss incurred by not making a backup.
