-None of my kids (and this is absolutely critical) have devices such as smartphones or tablets that they can download the fitbit app and sync their watches to. They all have Amazon Fire Kids tablets but - even if they could download the fitbit app - they don't use them enough to make that practical.
1. The first problem is Fitbit's insistence that I sync the kid's watch to the kid's smart device (e.g., tablet). I sort of understand this as it makes the user experience better, but Fitbit markets these watches for young children and they should have some sort of practical, useful solution the common parent use of syncing the watch to the fitbit app on the parent's smartphone (in my case, an Android running Android 10).
However, I've given up on the score being useful just today. I've been working on my poor posture lately, and may have overdid it a bit on Sunday - as yesterday I had a bit more back pain that usual (it's gradually going down, but some days I maybe exercise a bit too much or sit poorly a bit too much, still). My restful sleep when I woke up this morning checked in at 4h51m (I was up later than usual as I was just uncomfortable) and my total was only 5h13m. I felt like hot trash, and needed a 90 minute nap about 4 hours later. However I was scored at an 80 - which is simply laughable.
I don't see the point of the Sleep Score at all. In my 48 years I've never slept as much as it seems to indicate I need to in order to get an excellent night's sleep, and have no need nor desire to start now. And when it scores bad nights as "good", it's number becomes useless.
NOTE: It is not possible to build a single project for Fitbit OS 4 andFitbit OS 5 simultaneously, you need to maintain 2 separate projects, but both projects can use the same unique identifier for simplifiedpublishing.
If you're using a Fitbit device, you need to enable the DeveloperBridge. On the watch, go to Settings andtap Developer Bridge, then wait until it says Connected to Server.
This information is not accurate. Google does not let you sign into a child's account on a parent device - this is new from Google I understand. Fitbit needs to update its app and method of adding children.
After we bought one of these fitbit gadgets for our child, we ran into problems immediately during installation. I then joined this discussion group in hopes of quickly finding a solution and moving on. What I've found is that the technical issue is legitimate. The issue has essentially been recreated on a multitude of devices, a significant number of which are described clearly on this forum. The magnitude of the issue seems rather obvious to anyone who reads over the comments posted here.
Final solution was that I ended up creating a fitbit account with a non-google email (and I refused the google migration request) and then I could add a child within my account and finish ace setup easily on both phones. I started in the old android phone so maybe that had something to do with it as the app was not up to date but the the iphone app seemed ok as well with same account. No need of family link or to have an email for my child afterall!
This worked for me. My child already had a device and a Gmail (as did i) under supervision. I formatted his device, and deleted our existing family link. At up a new Gmail for myself, downloaded family link and set up my child IN family link. Then on his device (formatted) I set it up using his new Gmail then downloaded fitbit and activated that way. For it to work the child needs to be set up in family link. Not set up and added to family link. Took me 3 hours and now we both have extra emails which isn't ideal however my son is happy. Huge flaw with Google/fitbit and in its current state I wouldn't recommend the product I persevered because I was refused a refund. Thank you Unknown Explorer.
This doesn't work on either my wifes phone which no longer has a fitbit device or mine as I get an error I am not allowed to log into my sons gmail account on my device... She is on Motorola and I have a Pixel 7 so this best answer does not work...
So are we in agreement that there is no way to set up or use the Ace 3 if you want to maintain your current Google Family Link accounts? There is no way to connect this device using existing parent and child emails in Family Link. Correct? Since it results in the error message that you cannot use the child's email to login, as it is a supervised account. Yet, the set-up process requires login with a child's supervised account. The only folks who have made this work have deleted their existing Family Link accounts and created new emails for both parent and child, which isn't an option if you use your existing Family Link for other devices, as well. Looks like we need to return it.
@Goyim the Windows app was discontinued October 13, 2022. The dongle that was used acted as a bridge for the Fitbit Connect software to take your device's data and upload it to the Fitbit server. That no longer is possible. You need to add any device to your smartphone or tablet by the Fitbit app that you can download free. The app for the computer no longer works. Read this article on compatible devices - click to go there.
If your Alta has been syncing, I'll assume that you do have a smart phone, with the fitbit app installed, that the Alta has been syncing through. As @Odyssey13 states, you will.use the phone to setup the Inspire 3.
Love the whole badge system, really gives an extra level of encouragement and aspiration.
Please post these emails in kilograms and kilometres, the old measurements are no longer relevant in the modern world.
Really looking forward to the new Fitbit smartwatch too, need to upgrade my Surge.
My first Versa lasted less than a month and died. Fitbit sent me a replacement that constantly needs restarting. Every time it restarts it has trouble finding the wifi even though I'm right next to the router and the app can't find my Versa to sync after I finally get the wifi to work.
@SunsetRunner First of all the sync does not happen via wifi but via bluetooth. wifi is only needed for speeding up versa firmware upgrade, uploading music and certain large apps and clockfaces. Thus, Versa never stays connected to wifi all the time. Actually, I noticed that having wifi enabled for Versa very often causes issues with Bluetooth connectivity and hence sync and notifications. Personally, I remove wifi network from fitbit mobile app after performing firmware update or uploading music. Now, what do you mean by screen goes black? What happens if you tap the screen or press the left button? Does it stay black until next reboot?
@SunsetRunner Can you please reboot the versa (press and hold the left and bottom right buttons until fitbit logo appears) so to be able to see the screen? Then, please tap the Settings app on your Versa, scroll down to About and tap Factory Reset. This will wipe your Versa, so it would be good to sync first. I know you are having syncing issues so you may lose the data since the last sync. You will also need to delete your tracker from your Paired Devices list in your phone Bluetooth settings. Please reboot your phone as well. Once Versa resets to factory defaults, you will need to set it up again by adding it as a replacement device in the Fitbit mobile app. If this does not resolve the screen issue, I am afraid you might have to reach out to Customer Support to guide you through the next steps.
I just got a Withings Body+ scale and I'm ready to start tracking my weight, etc. (not the most user-friendly process. Three reinstalls and two scale resets later ...). I went to fitbit.com/weight/withings and connected my accounts, with the intent of the scale measurements being logged in my fitbit app. I read somewhere that I need the Google Health app to be a part of the process. Is that the case? Right now I have it, the Withings app and the fitbit app on my phone, which seems a bit excessive. Do I need them all? Do they all/some of/whichever need to be running at the same time? I'm hoping to get some guidance from folks more knowledgeable than I am. In advance, thank you.
Thank you, Mario. I can understand needing the Withings app, so that makes sense. And I want to track things in the Fitbit app (as well as the other things the Fitit watch tracks), so ditto there. Those two are "must keep." And if I'm reading what you're saying correctly, I need Google Health as the bridge, correct? It's too bad with Google owning Fitbit I can't just use the Health app instead of it and the Fitbit app.
My Sense, like so many here, has not worked correctly since I got it. I get an SPO2 reading every 8 days, which is the reason I bought it in the first place. But in the meantime I just bought an iPhone, moving from an Android, and now the iPhone can't find the Sense or let me update the tracker, although it says that it is syncing. Do I need to delete the Sense and reinstall it on the iPhone? I don't expect it to work any better but I need it to lodge a report with Support again. Thx
You should only have to download the iOS app, log into your account and then link the phone to your Sense. No need to delete it from your account. You might want to uninstall the Android app from your old phone first.
I need an accurate suggestion to replace the Fitbit One. I'm seeing lots of inaccurate information in the community about replacements that do not have the same features. I need the same exact features as the One. It needs to be worn on a clip and track all of the following: floors climbed, steps, active minutes, calories, miles. I spent a lot of time on the Fitbit store site and it does not allow searching nor does it filter for specs and features. From what I could decipher, the products that are clip based, similar shape and size, do not track floors climbed. Anyone find one that does have all of the same features? Thanks!
