Hey guys,

I have an issue. I think I can fix it, but just want to run it by the group first.

I shipped my machine cross country and it was pretty busted up (thanks UPS) upon arrival. Although there was a litany of issues, I've fixed them one at a time, with the goal of eventually pouring a shot again...

The current issue is the pressure seems to just keep building and building approaching the red line.

Now, I thought I remembered one of the service manuals indicating a blow-off or bleeder valve atop the boiler that was supposed to keep this from happening.  I have a top view of the machine here: http://www.bearhoodproductions.com/Faema%20C84/#P1020632.JPG

Not sure if it's worth indicating that the lead weight attached to the valve atop the boiler located in the center fell off during shipping (it was dropped from a substantial height), among other things. Anyhow, can anyone remind me which of the valves could help with this? or is it potentially an electronic issue/blown sensor of some sort?

That lead weight on the valve is not a weight but an inspection seal
applied to the safety valve when it is tested by the manufacture. The
valve's purpose is to blow off excess pressure in the boiler. If the
seal is missing, maybe some one has played with the valve and it's not
functioning properly.

The gray box in right hand rear corner is the pressurestat that controls
the boiler pressure by turning the heater off and on. Maybe it was
damaged in the shipping accident and needs to be adjusted or replaced.

Right, you don't want to rely on the overpressure valve on the boiler to regulate pressure.  It's only there for emergencies.  You probably just need to readjust the pstat (the gray box previously referenced).

As these guys mentioned the safety valve on the top prevents the boiler from getting to dangerous (bursting) levels. I make it a habit to replace this on any machine I acquire. They're only $25 or so; just make sure you get the right thread.
The pressure stat maintains correct pressure in the boiler. You might open the box up to look for corrosion and proper operation. You could post some pics.
