My rebuild of a C85 has been progressing slowly. Given how much descaling I had to do, and how I’d like to avoid repeating that, I’d like to get the water softener working.

1. The upper gasket for the filter housing cap is missing. Does anyone know where to get one, or the specs?

2. The lower gasket is really brittle. Again, specs or replacement sources?

3. Does anyone have the system used to recharge the filters? I’m thinking I can probably hack something together with a 3D printed funnel, but I’d really love to get pictures and measurements. Does anyone have one, and would they be willing to help me with this?

Thanks,
Ryan

Great to here of your progress!  I bypassed the softener and plumbed in a commercially available presoftner/descaller prior to machine.    I wasn't able to easily locate an replacement cartridge and it made economic sense for me since my purpose was to make espresso and not to restore to original manufacture condition.   I do not have a brand or type to recommend, because I have used several over the years and my water in northern New England, USA may not have the same hardness as your location.

For what it’s worth, Faema has been ignoring my support request for parts info, but I think, first, that I’ve located an equivalent upper gasket (it wasn’t missing, but it’s an O ring and I was looking in the wrong spot), and second, that I’ve ordered material to cut a custom lower gasket.

I’ve also done some 3D modeling, and I think I can 3D print and fabricate a filter regeneration station.

I’m happy to share the status of all this once I get it assembled.

Regards,
Ryan
