Hello. This is a very specific issue with the Digital Photo Professional 4 program I have, but it's a pretty big issue for me regardless. When I scroll through images to sort them, I use the vertical thumbnail multi-layout view. When I take photos, I usually take several of the same scene (as can be seen on the screenshot). When I scroll down onto a new scene (as done in the screenshot), I would like to know roughly how many of those images I have taken.

The problem I have is that the list only scrolls as you navigate to a list item that's past the visible list litems. I can see the thumbnails of all my previously viewed images, but no thumbnails of images that are next in queue. Knowing how many images I took of a scene if important when sorting, so I tend to manually scroll down the list every time I get to a new scene.

The way I have DPP set up is that the thumbnails of the images in my folder populate the main window instead of the sidebar, but that is just my personal preference. By default, the first image is highlighted. I press Ctrl plus the A key to select all, then select "Edit Image". Now all images in the folder are in line to be edited and can be selected from the panel on the left. Notice in the second screen cap that the file tree is no longer visible, just another personal preference but it gives me more editing area.

Selecting All makes it so that all thumbnails in the folder are available to be selected, from the side bar, during editing. You can either scroll through the thumbnails or use the Arrows at the bottom to go to the next image in the queue, which you have created by selecting all. You can easily back out of this to view other folders by clicking the "Return to main window" button just left of the Edit button.

Your post says this: "The problem I have is that the list only scrolls as you navigate to a list item that's past the visible list items" Not sure exactly what you mean. Once you get to the first image of a string that you are interested in you can manually scroll the first image in your string up to the top (or left if you put thumbnails on the bottom) of the stack but that would only give you 8 (or 16) images in a line.

Adobe Lightroom behaves like that. There is a strip of preview images across the entire bottom of the GUI. The size of the previews is user selectable. I have never counted them, but the total is at least 16 images with my settings.

I can assume that the problem is your computer, not the program. Perhaps due to incorrectly configured access to the folder with files, the program does not recognize them and does not issue thumbnails correctly. My friend had a similar problem, but the only thing that helped him was reinstalling the entire program. Many photographers or retouchers face problems with the software. When I read about Alyissa Landri's photography business, I realized that professional photographers have the same problems as amateurs. Be careful when reinstalling so as not to delete important files from the hard disk.

The new pixel scrolling feature of Emacs 26.1 not only gives us smoother scrolling but finally allows us to scroll smoothly over large inline images. Here is how I've configured it to achieve a pleasant experience:

I have an image manager that shows a fixed sized grid of images. The thumbnails are relatively small already so I can't really make them smaller. I implemented lazy loading and using a debounce function to check if the images on in the visible region. This increased the speed of launching my image manager. However, if I scroll while the new batch of images are being loaded, the scrolling becomes very slow. Is there anyway around this or to further optimize loading images?

Is there a way to prevent scrolling while a new batch of images are coming in? Kind of like how Youtube just keeps bouncing when we try to scroll to see more comments while they are still being loaded?

It turns out the slow scrolling was due to me calling getBoundingClientRect() to find new visible images while there were some images still being loaded. That caused a reflow which bogged everything down.

However, for large-images, when I scroll past the bottom of the image, I get a 'jerk' and the whole image is scrolled away. Similarly if I scroll up and run into an image, I get a jerk and see the whole image instead of seeing it incrementally bit by bit.

Somewhat of a workaround, but useful for working with images in org-mode was to open them in an external app that auto-reloads on file change.Example would be eog (eye of gnome) or shutter or prievew (on OS X). It can be configured via org-file-apps by adding:

Since Emacs 26.1, the buffer can be scrolled by individual pixels instead of just lines which can be used to smoothly scroll over images using the mouse wheel. To achieve this I have used the following configuration:

I have images in repeating groups that scroll without scrolling the page scrolling, even though the images fit the group they are in. I would like the page to scroll with the user scrolls over the image.

I think you need to double check the size of the elements in use. If all images are displayed in a repeating group, so that only a single image is displayed in a single repeating group cell and you are not working with nested repeating groups, there has to be an issue with the size of the image or the group container.

I designed an image gallery where the left half of the page will have the grid of images (now there are just 4) and the right side will have the focused image enlarged. My question is, is there a way to have the left side stay the same height as the window while more images are added to it? I want a scrollbar to show so the user can see more images, but not have the entire window itself have a scrollbar. I hope this is clear.

As you can see, the window already has a scrollbar on the far right side because there are many small images on the left grid already. What I am trying to figure out is how to keep the images contained so when there are many, a scrollbar for the left grid will appear and not have the entire window height enlarge.

I have a portfolio page on my site that will not show unless I scroll down 4 or 5 times...only then will the page start populating. There isn't anything more different about the images on the page than any other page-blog, shop, etc. It just won't load the image covers. I am not sure how to fix it. I feel like when someone goes to the page, they will see nothing and not really think I have anything there. Does anyone here have any ideas to fix it? Thanks in advance.

Hi there! I recently launched my website, and for some reason the background images move around. One does a weird thing with the top and bottom of the image appearing on top of each other (the bottom of the image on the top) and the other displays the background placeholder image. These are fixed images. I just want a basic hero banner on each of these pages. The two banners do not share a class, so I cannot figure out why they both have the same problem.

It looks like you have two container on top of each other, is that on purpose? did you wanted to make an animation with two images? If you share your read only link I can maybe better assist you with this issue.

1) choppy scrolling - this occurs in notes with several images. Using the scroll bar to actually scroll, see what I am scrolling, and then stop where I want to is very difficult. The only way to navigate without frustration is the arrow keys.

3) One particular note that is very long with images became impossible.... and it would not sync to the web. Constantly got the "launch or wait" dialogue trying to scroll. I relaunched, restarted machine... and no improvement, plus time between each delay was 3-5 minutes just to get my cursor back. Actually, I think the whole process threw everything on my machine into slow motion. FINALLY, when I got the cursor back I got the 'notion' to export the note to html so I could grab my text and put it somewhere else to work with. This whole process took 2 hours, just to get my text unfrozen so I could work this morning, hence... cranky me.

Using simple neurite tracer on a 2018 mac. For some reason my arrow keys no longer scroll through the image stack, and clicking through the scroll bar manually yields images that are too far apart to be accurate. Does anyone know how to set that up?

You can move back and forth through a series to find theimages you require by using the Image Scroller tool. The Image Scrollertool is composed of a scrollbar. Various colors and lines are displayedwithin the scrollbar to communicate information about the images.

In other areas of the course I've been able to paste images into the scrolling panel and they stay where I put them, (even this same image, using the same technique to paste and position it), but on this particular screen the scrolling panel doesn't seem to recognize the image and won't "grab" it.

My StoryMap is a split screen with a map on the left and content scrolling on the right. It is published and pretty much ready to distribute, but when I scroll through the published version, the images sometimes jump or skip or stagger instead of the scroll being smooth and continuous. This seems to happen more often when there are two images back to back or a video and image back to back, and potentially when an image is on the larger side (though there are examples that are exceptions to those cases). I tested the StoryMap on three different devices and it does the same thing every time. Is there a reason why this is happening? If so, how do I fix the issue.

This creates multiple rows for the images and allows us to have and easily add images to the slider. However it would be good to have a 3+ x 2 Grid of sorts like the above that scrolls across like a moving banner.

Before, I when I need to make a horizontal text crawler, I just make a file that has 1080pixels height and variable width(larger than 1920pix) and just select it through the image scroller object of the CasparCG client.
