I didn't see anything that looks like a virus, however you can do two things.. well 3 technically. One, if you can download comodo firewall. This program will actually allow you to choose what loads when it requests to load, so if you see something that looks out of the norm, you can deny it from loading Its more of an advanced utility but it really works (all be it a bit annoying as it asks you about almost everything). 2. access msconfig and see if you cant see the program that might be causing the problem and uncheck it from automatically loading. Most viruses and malware can work around this but you might have some luck. 3. If your antivirus and malware programs are not picking anything up, it could be that their defenitions are not up to date.. try another program like a trail of norton antivirus or microsoft's security essentials. Last but not least (this makes 4) redo your computer using the recovery partition.. see if you can't backup your files (treat them like they are infected), and do a clean install.. then install your antivirus and update it first thing. Some malware can trick an antivirus into not seeing it if its installed AFTER infection.
I will save my time writing to antivirus companies, they are not going to remove my software =(, kasper, trend, etc. a new compiled probable could help, but i would like to reproduce the article or idea of Nirsoft.
The comments below the article show that the public is still scared to follow this advice, however this seems to be the new trend. Maybe we will get rid of virus scanners in a few years and be able again to develop our softwares undisturbed !
