Introductions

If you'd like, you may briefly introduce yourself to the group.

My name is Kristen Swisher. I currently hold an online adjunct
faculty position for the University of Phoenix - Axia College. I have
been an online instructor for 2 1/2 years. I mainly teach accounting
courses, but I also teach a lot of general introductory courses. My
background has been mostly in corporate accounting with experience as
an auditor, bookkeeper,and as a staff and senior accountant. I hold a
Master's degree in accounting, but would like to return to school for
a PhD in education. I stumbled upon online teaching because of some
health issues after my son was born. Since I couldn't hold a full
time job, online teaching was a perfect fit for me. I enjoy online
teaching and would prefer to never return to the "corporate world".
My goal is to acquire another teaching position within the next year
or so and to improve my income and make online teaching more full time.
