Welcome to the Online Faculty Water Cooler!
This group will hopefully prove to offer some valuable information
while at the same time allowing for a more relaxed atmosphere than
other groups. Feel free to share your experiences and questions with
others. I am hoping everyone will get along. If issues do arise, we
are all adults here, so I'd please ask that you work it out amongst
yourselves. If you have any serious issues that need to be addressed
however, please feel free to contact me. I don't intend to babysit
or to be copied on every questionable post.
With that being said...Let's get started!

I just wanted to say hello to everyone and introduce myself..I am
currently attending Capella in the PhD for Organization and Management
program with a focus on College Teaching. My background is in
accounting and finance. I got my BS in accounting from UOP and my
Masters with a dual major from Baker. I'm taking two classes at the
moment and will be upping that to 3 soon, so I don't have a lot of
time to contribute. I noticed we got a new member recently, PhD
Warrior I think. Great name! I love it.

I've looked for a teaching job but decided for now to halt the hot
pursuit. I'm just so overwhelmed at the moment that I can't imagine
taking on a new challenge. Periodically I get the bug and through out
my CV but so far not even a nibble. Well maybe a nibble but that's as
far as it has gotten. Maybe the one that rules my life knows now is
not the right time for me so I'll just be patient.

Hi Melinda!

 

I too am a Capella student as I recently returned to complete my studies.  In any case, I work in Higher Education and I teach on ground and online on the side.  I too am contemplating cutting back.  Wear and tear is starting to get to me.

 

In any case, nice to meet you. Hopefully, we all will be involved in a much tighter, nicer, and information group that also networks too.
