Monitoring FactoryGirl and what it creates

Hi;

Just starting to use FactoryGirl more and was wondering about how to monitor (for e.g. in the test.log) what FactoryGirl is doing at any point in time, particularly when creating objects.

I had a difficult time trying to figure out what part of a nested association was failing without putting a lot of "puts" statements everywhere. 

Is there an easier, built-in way of getting a trace of activities as FactoryGirl build things?
