Hey Guys,
I had kinda wanted to finish writing out the events of the Lockdown
arc before sending out this message but I'm a little stalled. The
scope of the adventure was just so huge that its difficult wrapping my
head around the narrative. Maybe it'll get done, maybe not. Right now
I'm up to the point right before the VIGIL virus went active in the
TARTARUS complex. Hope everyone had a great Holiday. I know I'm
exhausted.

I did want to cover some Out of Character ground before the next game.
Forgive me for the list format:
1. Next Game: Whose running it? Bob? Liz?
2. The Wiki: There was some discussion on getting one set up. Any
thoughts/Can I help in any way?
3. My Arc: Probably not to be run until 2010. If you guys are into the
idea, it will be called 'Legacies' and will play with that concept.
I'm envisioning a series of mini-adventures taking place
Pre-Cataclysm. Ideally, you'd be creating a Heroic Legacy for the game
that is different from your current Omega character. A 'Legacy' in
this case would mean creating the same character at PL 8, 10, and 12.
This could be Robin, Nightwing, Batman or Superboy, Powergirl,
Superman. I think it'd be a fun way to flesh out some of the world.
It'll probably be a year or more.
4. Buying our Plot:

Ok. As of the end of the last adventure, we had completely destroyed
Omicron by crashing it down on TARTARUS. We were pardoned and
deputized under the US government.. nominally reporting to ARTEMIS and
working with UNICORN and probably getting stuck in the middle of their
battles. On top of that, every bad guy we've ever faced was now free
(minus The Archmage who is hopefully still in the Forbidden Zone) on
top of basically setting an entire army of Supervillains and a mind
controlling Nanite swarm adrift into the Bleed (or whatever we're
calling the space between dimensions). To top it all off, we got 10PP
and went up a Power level.

Let me lay this on the table. We kick ass. We are Justice
League/Avengers level heroes now. Any new heroes will define
themselves in comparison to us. "SUBmariner is kinda like CRUSADE but
his armor is water based." and villains will always factor us into
their equations for world domination.

4a. Leveling up: Of the 10PP from this arc, 8PP or slightly less if
you go feat based will be necessary to bring our attacks in line with
PL.
4b. New Base?: What do we want to get? Do we want to pool our
resources (I currently have 2 PP put aside for the old shell of
Omicron but that can be shifted)? Do we want to be in space? The moon?
Somewhere else underground?
4c. The government: Do we want to do anything related to the new
government relationship? Prime has had 'connected' since UNICORN with
the idea that we might at some point need we might need a clean up
crew for some mess or other. Benefit(security clearance) might benefit
(hehe) someone as well. Any ideas for government perks (besides the
dental plan) that we could take advantage of?
4d. Other Leveling: Not my place to tell anyone how to spend their
points.. but as your teammate I would love to see some things that
make me go "Holy crap, that was awesome!" when you do it.

Looking forward to seeing you all next game.
-Bill

Can I claim TeenSquach as a legacy?

Tell you what.. I'll let you get away with the Sasquatch Legacy.
TeenSquatch can be the PL 8 version. Question is, does that make
BorgSquatch your Black Adam or your run-down futuristic Bruce Wayne?

Borgsquatch is actally a nanotech infected duplicate displaced from Beta-Earth.

Going back a step.. Beta-Earth. Does this mean that we have a
Greek-Letter based Multiversal naming convention? We would of course
have to be from Omega-Earth. Of course that's a little limiting as
we're then down to just the 24 Greek letters to name the various found
worlds.31 Greek Letters if we use the special characters that were put
in place to represent the greek Numeral system (Similar but less
frequently used than the Roman numeral system).

Of course if we're going to use Greek Numeral characters then we might
as well just use the Greek numeral system. Letters in that system are
suffixed with a 'Keraia' (looks like this: ʹ ) to indicate they're
being used for numbers rather than as letters. So by this system: Βʹ
-Earth (BetaEarth) = Earth 2, Ωʹ -Earth (OmegaEarth) = Earth 800, and
ΨΠΕʹ-Earth (PsiPiEpsilonEarth) = Earth 785.

There are two things to take away from this:
1. Ωʹ (Greek Numeral 800) is easily confused with Ω′ (Omega Prime) and
thus I endorse it heavily.
2. I should not be left to surf Wikipedia without supervision (also
superhearing, superstrength, and superventriloquism)

Well, Grant Morrison touched on that a little bit when he re-vamped
Peregrine's origin during the mid-90s but its a little controversial
as most Peregrine consider Marv Wolfman's run on Excitement Comics to
be the definitive one so all of the 'Earth Echo' stuff tends to get
ignored in favor of Wolfman's Arthurian storyline.

How far back do superheros go in our universe?  Were they active during WWII?  WWI?  Spanish-American War?

I was thinking of a character I had made up for the War of Martian Agression in case we had to have characters with us.  He was either called "The Objector" or "The Mad Quaker".  He was a conscience objector who used his powers as kind of a terrorist destroying amunition factories, etc without harming humans or animals.  Kinda weird, I know, but I had fun making him.  :)

In my mind the Omega game is happening in a universe that had *a* version of the War of Martian Aggression, although one that apparently didn't drastically alter the track of the US Civil War.

I'd guess real superheroes would have showed up in force in the early 20th century, reaching a point of maximum acceptance at some point later in the century, and then descending into Iron Age chaos not long before the cataclysm that caused so many of them to disappear.

I'm leaning towards the idea that Super POWERS have pretty much always
existed. Nanites, Robots, and Clones are new-ish but analogs could
reasonably shift back to the early 1800's per Victorian era Steampunk
and Frankenstein-like bio-science. Before that, Magic, Dimensional
Rifts, and Aliens could all go back to the earliest times.

I was going to go into a history discussion talking about Zorro and
masked vigilantes etc.. but I realized that our sense of history
really only goes back to the Cataclysm. We know that there is a United
States so presumably a revolutionary war. Heck, we've never even come
across a Nazi to know if there was a WWII.

Well, it would have been confirmed that Dr Lazarus had been around for
about 2000 years or so....
who ever said it was his last name...

The next question is: What does it say on Dr. Lazarus' character sheet that the source of his powers is?

Over the weekend, I set up a site in case we want to use it: http://omega.darktouch.net

The site is MediaWiki which is the same code used for Wikipedia. Administration isn't the most intuitive so I haven't started doing any customization or anything. Blank Wiki Canvas. Hopefully this week I'll find the time to put up some graphics and a basic navigation structure.

I added some headings on the front page of the wiki, but haven't
created links yet until everyone had a chance to look and make
whatever comments they like.

Did a little more cleaning up myself.
Added a Logo and did a little more cleaning up to the front page. Also, I added in some code so that you can't edit a page without being logged in. I know its a little more work for you guys to get in that way, but I have my worries about bot spam.
