Hello,
The July meeting of the Facilitators Guild will be Wednesday, July 27, from 8:30 a.m. - 10:30 a.m., at the CCED offices, 1615 East Michigan Avenue.
In a departure from our usual practice, we're asking everyone who attends to do a little bit of advance thinking on this question:
"What stands in the way of using facilitated dialogue as a means to engage in civic discourse in our community?"
All who attend are encouraged to think of at least one challenge or barrier to the use of facilitated dialogue as a practice, occurring at any level (personal, interpersonal, institutional, or cultural). Our hope is that by considering what stands in the way, we may discover some promising actions for advancing the use of facilitated dialogue.
I will be out of town all this week at the NACCHO Conference in Connecticut, and then in a workshop next Monday and Tuesday, so this is likely the last reminder you'll receive of the July 27 meeting. I hope to see you there.
