The Facilitators Guild will meet on Wednesday, October 26, at 2:30.
The location will be either the CCED office (1615 East Michigan Avenue)

The Focus for the next session will be on how power dynamics impact
effective facilitation.  The trigger will be this excerpt from the text
of our core value, "Enfranchisement":

Effective facilitators intentionally subvert “hierarchies of opinion”
based on inequitable power or influence.  They deliberately seek to
enfranchise voices that would otherwise not be heard or valued.
Enfranchisement means more than “assuring an equal voice for all.”  It
acknowledges that structural inequities in society prevent some people
from participating equally in public discourse.

Each participant in this meeting is asked to do some thinking in
advance on the above excerpt, and this question:  "As facilitators, how
do we create equitable participation when inequitable power dynamics are
present in a group?"

Hope to see you there.
