Marilyn Young and I attended the Illumination Project at Portland CC,
and it was amazing. Take a look at the resources the website offers >
http://www.pcc.edu/resources/illumination/

I plan to implement many of the things I learned there in my classroom
in the fall. I hope that Seattle people will start a dialogue here
about what they are doing this fall and come see what's happening on
the Shoreline Community College campus. For example, I've been asked
to do something around Domestic Violence the last week in October. I'm
not sure my students will be ready to do Forum Theatre, but if you
have any other ideas (e.g. particular exercises), I'd love to hear
them.

Hi Sarah!
Please keep me in the loop, I'd love to know how I can be involved.

Barbara,
I surely will. What are you involved in this fall?

Hey Sarah,
I'd love to be of any assistance I can.
Also, you might want to to contact Rut from our workshop since she works in the area of domestic violence.

Also,

I just had an informal meeting with the Post-Prison Education Program about volunteer opportunities.
http://postprisonedu.org/home.html

They are always looking for help. Sounds like they're really interested in bringing in some theatre practices in some upcoming projects, and are open to new ideas.

Also, if anyone is interested in prison work, prison reformation, etc...you might want to check out an awesome talk they are sponsoring.

Tickets are $5. I got mine, anyone care to join me??

Marilyn,
I'd like to hear more about what you're going to do as a volunteer... Maybe we could do something together...

Interesting Marilyn...you've found some interesting connections. I liked working in the prison on Guam and doing theatre. Let me know what you decide to do. Are you working with Sarah? I'll fly to Seatac for Christmas in Olympia, with my husband's dad. Two trips to the west coast, Yikes! But last time was four flights and this time we can fly direct from Istanbul to LAX (14 hours)...can't wait. Anyway, keep me posted on your work.
Warmly,
Julie
