There is a new blog post on the web site announcing a call for papers
from an Australian group focusing on Somatechnics.

“Somatechnics is a recently coined term used to highlight the
inextricability of soma and techné, of the body (as a culturally
intelligible construct) and the techniques (dispositifs and ‘hard
technologies’) in and through which bodies are formed and
transformed."
The word is new to me, and I have mixed feelings about it. Has anyone
else run into it? What do you think?
The group is going to be having a panel at their annual meeting on the
Face. I wonder what that will be like.
