Fachans Annual Dinner

Due to a disappointing response we have decided not to hold the annual Dinner Weekend this year.  A few people have expressed some interest in having a lunch this Saturday in Edinburgh.  Tentative proposal is Blonde Restaurant on St Leonard’s Street.  2 course dinner £8.95.  No speeches or music but good food, a few drinks and we can agree the programme for 2013.

If you want to come along please let me know by 1700 on Thursday 24^th.  Partners and children welcome.

I'm heading back down south for the weekend so won't be able to make it unfortunately. I'm looking forward to some good walking though so excited to see what programme is rustled up. Definitely need to dust off the boots and get out for more walks this year!

Sorry for the slow response, everybody in our house seems to have the collywobbles and I don’t want to pass it on.  So far, I’m the only one to escape it, but the odds are not looking good.

 

Hannah is also desperate top go sledging or skiing, weather permitting, so if they all recover in time we’re heading for the hills.  However, if the weather is not good and I’m free of the collywobbles, what time were you meeting up?

 

Any chance of the Suilven trip being back on the agenda this year, just before the midge season begins would be ideal?  It was the only one I could make last year but it seems that I was the only one?

 

I would also quite like to do Ben More Assynt.  Perhaps a long weekend to Assynt would be ideal as it’s one of the few areas I’ve not been hill walking.  What about a club camping week at Easter, as Assynt is a long way to go even for a long weekend.  I was just thinking about doing a spot of camping at Easter.

 

My only firm commitment early this year is trip to Shetland, 2^nd to 5^th May, outside of that this year is looking good for walking weekends.  The house extension is nearly finished, so I have a lot more flexibility this year.
