Re the weather, a week ago I read about record lows recently experienced for Braemar. The last week has been fresh but not so dramatic... even today it continues to snow though. Depending on who you believe, it may be warmer and clear in the day come next Sat but presumably there will be snow underfoot much of the day:

Despite the hopefully nice weather and a south facing morning ascent, I will be coming prepared with my ice axe and crampons just in case of any hard / icy sections - as could exist such as along shaded parts of the burn on the way out...
My phone number is below and on the attached. If the forecast is correct then conditions should be pleasant but cool. However, if per chance snow on the access road prevents our getting right to the Linn of Quoish in the morning we can walk in an extra mile or two...
