Hi guys,
I have started to think about the trip to Ben Lui scheduled for next week.
There are couple of options
1) We could take the route which is described in the most of books. Some
details can be found here
http://www.walkhighlands.co.uk/argyll/ben-lui.shtml
That's rather easy route. About 10 km long and ascent is just over
1000m. The only problem is crossing the river Lochy at the begining.
There is no bridge. I have done this route few years ago and we were
lucky and watter level was rather low. However, the river Lochy is not a
little stream and it could easily get waste deap and vicious.
2) We could approach Ben Lui from east from Dalrigh. However, that's
about 7km one way. There is nice flat track which can be easily cycled
but I don't want to suggest that unless everyone is happy to bring a
bike. I can possibly bring one spare and believe Lawrence could have
one, too. We could certainly walk all the approach but that would be
rather long day.
3) We can pick another hill in the area. Let's say Ben Cruachan and/or
Stob Diamh.
So, let me know if you are coming and what would be your prefference.
I am looking forward to hear from you.
Tomas
