I have as good as done Ben Lui so would be OK to do another. Getting my bike there would be difficult since my car is too small to fit it in and if others cannot get bikes there then it might not be so good for them.
As Tom says there are other hills to go up.

David,

I am aware of that and will have spare crampons and axe to lend if
necessary. I will prepare some alternative routes just in case we don't
have enough equipment or stamina. There is plenty of hills around Ben Lui.

Tomas

There is nice flat track which can be easily cycled but I don't want to suggest that unless everyone is happy to bring a bike. I can possibly bring one spare and believe Lawrence could have one, too. We could certainly walk all the approach but that would be rather long day.

No. I was waiting for some more responses.

At the moment it looks that only four people are willing to come and majority is happy to stick with the original target Ben Lui and to take bikes to make approach from Dalrigh faster and more pleasant. I would wait until tomorrow afternoon to conclude the list of participants and then we can start to talk about travel arrangements. So, if anyone else wants to join us let me know by tomorrow 5 pm.

Tom

Gillian and I are going to target a lower-level walk this weekend so won’t make the Ben Lui trip.

I don't think that there would be a clash. I can bring another spare bike
for Lloyd. However, he was not that keen on cycling towards Ben Lui and I
don't want to put him off.
I have done all Munros in that area and all of them south of A82 require
river crossing or long approach/cycling. There is a group of about 5
Corbetts north of the road. We can attempt some of them instead. We can have
a nice view of Ben Lui from there if clouds will permit.
Let me know what you think.

Hi Tomas,

Sorry about the delay getting back to you, I'll be a starter for this walk.
I haven't done many of the walks in that area so I'm not fussy about which
one is decided on. I spoke with Lawrence yesterday about borrowing his spare
bike so hopefully that doesn't clash with anyone else's plans?!

MWIS forecast was just released. Unfortunately, it looks pretty grim but it
could be worse. They say that confidence is low. Anyway, in these
circumstances I would rather give up on Ben Lui and if we decide to give it
a go then we should aim the Corbetts. I will send some details of the route
tonight.

I have picked two Corbetts Beinn Chaorach and Cam Chreag north of A82
between Crianlarich and Tyndrum.
Maps are available for download here
https://www.dropbox.com/sh/vge95bj2gso3kas/MroGT9biMC

Some statistics: Distance 17 km, Ascent 1012 m. So, that's sort of same
difficulty as originally planned Ben Lui but on lower level. There is
also an option to escape from col between the summits and make it
easier. Bike is not required. I assume there will be no need for
crampons and axes but expect cold and wet weather. Don't underestimate
clothing. Winter does not seem to be totally over yet.

The walk will start at 9:30 from Dalrigh car park about half way between
Tyndrum and Crianlarich. It's very likely that I will be there already
on Friday night and will boil kettle before you arrive ;-)
Just in case something goes wrong my mobile is 07423057957.

Could you confirm your attendance by 5pm tomorrow that I know who is
coming.

Regards

Tom
