Dear FaceGen Team,

I hope this message finds you well.

I am currently working on a project that requires generating facial stimuli with varying emotional intensities, specifically focusing on happy faces. In a previous discussion from 2011, it was mentioned that there was no single "Happy" emotion slider in FaceGen, and users would need to adjust multiple sliders (such as Smile and EyeSquint) to achieve natural happy expressions.

Given my project’s need for different intensities of happy faces, I am wondering if FaceGen has since introduced a single "Happy" emotion slider or any other method to easily create happy expressions across varying intensities, including both mild and strong happiness levels?

Your guidance would be greatly appreciated. I look forward to your response.

Best regards,
Celine

Dear Celine, thank you for your comments.

We have not done any labelling and correlation of perceived happiness (as perceived by the viewer or the subject).

Note that you can create your own version of happiness under the 'Expression' tab, and save it using the 'Save File' button to reload anytime using the 'Load File' button. You could create both mild and strong happiness levels this way and save each under a different filename.

Best wishes,
