AJAX Examples don't work in Firefox 25.0.1

I've been using facebox 1.2 for a few years and I wanted to upgrade to 1.3 but when I tried out the examples included in the downloadable jar the ajax example doesn't work in Firefox 25.0.1.

It loads a popup with the following, ie no data in content div:

Firefox is throwing a "HierarchyRequestError: Node cannot be inserted at the specified point in the hierarchy" but I don't know how to fix it?

If anyone has any ideas I'd love to hear them as I'm seriously considering looking for an alternative.
