Hello, I am a Web-designer, currently on the look out for a facebook
app developer.

You may have noticed many websites are adopting this new feature where
you can register to a site using Facebook, this is something I'm
planning on adding to my site but have no expertises in developing
facebook apps.

From what I've gathered, if you allow the app, it accesses your
facebook info and uses it to register you to a site, very useful
indeed.

If your a Facebook app developer, please contact me and we can discuss
further :)

I want to link a 'connect with facebook' button to a facebook app which accesses the users account details and signs them up on the site.

Would using wordpress be a problem?

Sorry Kalyan, there is no way I could do it for $150.

I'm a student who is just starting up this business, I've also heard from an another developer I was speaking to it's not much work involved in this.

Once again, I apologise.

How much do you offer?

Cameron,

Please note that if you continue to hit "reply" instead of "reply to sender" your conversation with kalyan kuramana <kalyanba...@gmail.com> will continue to be visible to this entire list. This is like having a private conversation very loudly in a public place. If mean for your conversation to be just between you & him please be sure to be sending emails directly to him and not to the whole list. (If your reply email says "facebook-ap...@googlegroups.com" in the To: field it goes to the whole list.)

The feature you are talking about is called "Facebook Connect" and there is at least one WordPress plug-in to support this, here:

As an alternative I've had success with this Wordpress plug-in too:

There are indeed a handful of technical steps to get it working right, but in general you do not need to write custom software or your own "Facebook app" to do this. Good luck!

Well, I was waiting on another developer getting back to me with further details before you emailed.

I'm not a Facebook developer, so I'm just getting my information from them but they say it's not a big job and would charge me $10.

Cameron and Kalyan,

Please stop negotiating the terms of your agreement in a public forum. You will continue to send messages to the entire list as long as "facebook-ap...@googlegroups.com" is in the To: field of the messages you send to each other.

Thanks,
Jason

Jason, this plugin is very useful but not exactly what I'm looking
for, I actually need someone to develop a facebook app to link the
plugin in to.

That makes very little sense. If you are indeed using WordPress, stick to a WordPress plug-in. Examine the features of your various choices (there are several plug-ins that do this), evaluate their pros and cons, and pick the one that works best for you. Or hire someone else to do that (choose the WordPress plug-in) for you.

Custom app development, which is what I do, is probably not right for you. If you are still curious in discussing this more, please contact me off-list at ja...@datatravels.com and I can tell you what I think.
